who will love you while you’re sleeping

Abstract Embers Burning Light Trails

who will love you while you’re sleeping

lying in your gossamer shell of painted tears unknowing

while hoping doors will open till they close again behind you

locked and yet soft slight ajar with shards of daybreak creeping

over winding ivy covered stars in red and gold

embers burning still sear their scars into your heart

cold ice survives the melting traces search horizons not so far

your other worlds are empty and you know that’s true

don’t admit them into your private rooms remember there’s that door unlocked

and they group conspire and mumble to each other in tongues of molten lead

but if you refuse to hear them then they’re gone and better off than dead

….speechless, this is amazing! The agony and beauty of love’s tempestuous fire flow over the tongue – “over winding ivy covered stars in red and gold” – I can’t stop reading it. 🙂

    • Thank you for you great comments – this is one of those poems that I really didn’t spend much time over. I wrote it down as it came, I looked back over it and I was sure I didn’t need to change a single word. So glad you liked it!

Let me know what you're thinking.........
