Don’t Ever You Get Down

Sunrise over the Motorway

don't ever you get down

put the daylight into a dark box

take the night’s bright

and pull it back a notch

ratchet up and try

don’t think about it

until the moon you’ll lie

the clouds could hide it

down, don’t ever you get down

-/-/-/-/-/-

put your cold heart into a microwave

take your distance

and pull it back a notch

ratchet up and try

it won’t destroy you

mist dew tears you cry

at least you’ll feel true

down, don’t ever you get down

-\-\-\-\-\-

put your old clothes down a sewer drain

take your actor’s face

and paint that smile again

ratchet up and try

don’t think about it

sometimes wonder why

don’t you expose it

down, don’t ever you get down
