Mumbles Head Lighthouse

Black and White of Mumbles Head Lighthouse

Mumbles Head Lighthouse

This particular part of the bay is very sheltered. The wind was picking up at the time though, with gales forecast for the evening.

Taken with my new 50mm prime lens, I’m just getting the hang of framing with this lens.  Using a zoom makes you lazy, you can stand anywhere and get the composition you want, with a prime, if the shot doesn’t look right through the lens, there is only one option – Move!  For this one I was stood in the middle of a very windy car park.

Beautiful shot – I love lonely lighthouses..

    • Me too, I’m sure there is some unwritten rule that all lighthouses have to be photogenic. This one might appear lonely, but the shot is taken from a car park next to a busy golf course, and it’s no more than 5 miles from Swansea City centre!

Let me know what you're thinking.........
